Fiore Toyota's Fuel Efficiency Tips To Help You Save This Summer | Hollidaysburg, PA

Getting ready to hit the road this summer? Well, do so and bring these fuel economy tips along for the ride! Whether your travels are going to be taking you near or far, we could all benefit from boosting our fuel efficiency and even become better drivers along the way! Take a look at our tips listed out for you below and if we can help you get behind the wheel of a brand new, efficient Toyota, stop in to see our team today and let’s get you behind the wheel! Let’s get started! Fiore Toyota's Fuel Efficiency Tips: Reduce Your Speed SLOW DOWN! You’ve heard this many times before and now we’re here to tell you to do so because every 5 MPH over 50 is like paying $0.20 per gallon! Can you believe that? I sure can! So slow down, travel the speed limit because slower speeds are safer and more efficient! Don’t Idle Your Engine We understand that in sweltering summer temperatures you’ll want to turn your vehicle on to get the A/C pumping before hitting the road. But this is making your gas gage drop by keeping your engine idling, meaning that you're wasting your own dollars and you’re not even going anywhere! So start up the car and hit the road without letting your vehicle idle! Maintain Proper Tire Pressure Keeping your tires at the proper inflation levels is a simple way to improve your gas mileage in the summer months. In fact, you can improve your gas mileage by up to 3% by keeping your tires at the proper PSI levels. Get Regular Oil Changes If you haven’t had an oil change in a while, it might be time for a quick oil change which can really help boost your fuel efficiency. Dirty, old engine oil can decrease your fuel efficiency greatly due to being thick and sludgy. This oil makes your engine burn more energy which makes your fuel economy go down. No good! Avoid Aggressive Driving Not only is aggressive driving unsafe, but it’s also hurting your fuel economy! So, if you’re weaving in and out of traffic or known to speed up and slow down erratically, it’s time to stop! Rapid acceleration can negatively affect your highway fuel economy by up to 33% and your city economy by 5%. Are you ready to slow down now?

Car Fluids To Keep Your Ride In Check! | Hollidaysburg, PA

Owning a vehicle can be a strenuous task - what do I need to know? When should I swap out fluids? How much will it cost? Trust me, we’ve all been there and sometimes, things can be a bit trickier than others when it comes to servicing your vehicle. Like car fluids, for example. But there’s no need to stress, our team is here to help you have a successful ownership experience and this week we are bringing you important car fluids that you should know about and know what it is that they do. So, check those out below and give us a call to schedule your service appointment! Fiore Toyota's Vehicle Fluid Guide: Engine Oil Keeping those moving parts in your engine is easier than you thought - just keep your engine oil filled to the right levels and you’ll be good to go. If you don’t, you run the risk of damaging your vehicle and getting a hefty repair bill when it’s time to fix up your ride. If you choose to check the oil yourself, check out the owner’s manual or leave it to a professional which we recommend if you’re new under the hood. Radiator Fluid We hope you know that radiator fluid goes, well,  in the radiator. But, it also keeps your engine from overheating, which is VERY important. If you ever notice your engine running a little hot, you might be running low on this fluid and it’s time to check it. If you ignore this, you’ll end up with a hefty repair bill. We recommend leaving this fix o the professionals for safety reasons. Power Steering Fluid Much like your vehicle’s engine, your power steering system has to be lubricated at all times for best results and control when it comes to steering and wheels. If you don’t have proper fluid levels, you will lose control and that is not good. This is one of the easiest fluids to fill, so if you’re low or totally out (which we hope you’re not), take out your owner’s manual and DIY! Brake Fluid Your brake fluid has the important job of bringing your vehicle to a complete stop when you’re ready. If you run low or out of this fluid, you run the risk of not being able to stop and that can cause some problems. Check out your vehicle’s owner manual for directions on how to add or change brake fluid in your vehicle and be sure to take a look at the color, too. If it’s dark - have a mechanic replace ASAP!

Questions To Ask When Buying A New Toyota | Hollidaysburg, PA

Summer is coming to a close and that means you could be ready to upgrade your ride. Or perhaps you have a college student that could use a new set of wheels. Whether that’s you or someone you love, we have plenty of next Kia models waiting for you right here at Fiore Toyota. But first, we want to spread a little knowledge with you! Below, you will find a few important questions you’ll want to ask before signing on the dotted line. It’s important to know exactly what you are getting when you purchase a new vehicle and these questions will help determine that. So, check them out, put them to good use, and come see our team when you’re ready to upgrade your ride! We look forward to seeing you soon! Are there any additional fees? We hope it isn’t a shock but when buying a new car, you’ll be paying for more than just the car itself. It’s a good idea to ask what fees you are going to pay and how much they will be. This will cut down on confusion when it’s time for you to sign and drive off the lot with your new Toyota. What other amenities does the vehicle come with? Cars these days come with many gadgets and gizmos and you will want to know what they are before driving off or signing. Why? Well, if the vehicle you’re considering has features that you may not use or want - you probably don’t want to pay for them. Also, on the flip side, if you’re looking for specific features, you’ll want to ask and make sure your new vehicle is equipped with them. Will you hold the vehicle while I make a decision? Of course, we will but we like to put this on here to ensure that you ask and don’t lose out on a great new vehicle that you’ve fallen in love with. We encourage our customers to take the time they need, buying a new vehicle is a big investment and we want you to be sure this is the right option for you! How long is the warranty and what does it cover? Your vehicle is an investment and you will need to take care of that investment. Be sure to ask what type of warranty your vehicle comes with and how long it will last. These warranties will help keep some cash in your wallet when it comes to repairs and maintenance.

Stay Cool, Use These Car Cooling Tips! | Hollidaysburg, PA

Things are getting HOT HOT HOT here in Hollidaysburg, PA and we want to help you keep cool this summer! That starts right here on our blog with our top five summer tips on how to keep your vehicle cool in hot temperatures. Check it out below and if you’re ready to upgrade into a brand new Toyota, you know where to find us! Plus, the dealership is cool so maybe take a break from the hot summer heat and cool off right here at Fiore Toyota. See you soon! Use a sunshade or window visor. This is a great go-to method for drivers who are hoping to counteract the hot interior temperatures throughout the summer season. We recommend placing your sunshade or window visor each time you exit your vehicle for more than a few minutes. If you’re looking for a pro tip, put a sunshade on your rear windshield as well! Use a dash cover. Using a dash cover can make a big difference in making your vehicle’s interior more comfortable during hot temperatures. Dash covers will help you from touching hot vinyl surfaces and will also protect sensitive vinyl from any sun damage which can cause cracking and fading. Cover your steering wheel with a hand towel. Even when you use a sunshade, your steering wheel can still get very hot. Our recommendation is to place a small towel over your steering wheel. This will help keep your hands from burning when in contact with the steering wheel. Park in a shady area. When and if possible, park in shady areas. And if you’re going to be outside of your vehicle for an extended period of time, it’s worth a farther walk if you are able to park in the shade. You’ll be much happier that you parked farther away in the shade after your day out! Keep your possessions out of the sun. Keep any and all possessions, delicate or not, out of direct sunlight. Try storing your items underneath your seat or in a glove box. You can also throw a blanket over your possessions for extra measures. If you can’t find a place in your car that will conceal heat-sensitive goods, consider placing them in the trunk.

How To Travel Safely With Your Pet! | Hollidaysburg, PA

If you’re looking forward to some real fun in the sun then you’re probably packing up all of your gear, gassing up your car, and preparing to bring your dog along! Traveling with your furry friend can be a great experience, but it's important to ensure their safety while on the road. So, Fiore Toyota has put together some of our tips for traveling safely with your dog! Check those out below and be sure to take on your adventures with your furry friends with confidence that you’ll both get there safely! Fiore Toyota’s Doggy Travel Tips: Use a restraint: Whether it's a crate, seatbelt, or harness, a restraint will prevent your dog from roaming around the car and distracting the driver. Keep them hydrated: Make sure your dog has plenty of water and take frequent breaks for them to stretch their legs and go potty. Don't let them stick their head out the window: While it may look cute, allowing your dog to stick their head out the window can lead to eye injuries or ear infections. Pack their essentials: Bring along food, treats, a leash, waste bags, and any medication your dog may need. Check your destination's pet policy: If you're staying at a hotel or rental property, make sure they allow pets and what their specific policies are.

Fiore Toyota’s Doggy Travel Tips | Hollidaysburg, PA

Fiore Toyota’s sure that you’re not the only one enjoying the warmer weather and being able to spend more time in the sun! If you want to take your dog on more outdoor adventures this spring and summer, take a look at our doggy travel tips to make sure you’re prepared to take your pup on the road! Check out our tips below and, if you’re in the market for an upgraded ride, feel free to browse our large variety of brand new Toyotas! Fiore Toyota’s Doggy Travel Tips Use A Crate Or Seat Belt Fastener Ideally you should use a crate for all or your pet travel as it’s the best way to keep your pet secure. But, if you cannot fit a crate in your car, a seat belt fastener will work as well! As long as your dog can’t dangerously move too freely about the cabin or dangle out the window! Take Potty Breaks We all need to take a minute to stop, stretch our legs, and maybe use the bathroom. Treat your pooch to that same courtesy. This will also allow your dog to stay calm and they won’t be so anxious being kept locked up in a crate the entire trip. Let your pooch burn off that excess energy and perhaps they’ll take a little snooze when you hit the road again! Bring Snacks & Plenty Of Water Snacks are always appreciated on the road, especially if they can be used to calm your pup down. And being hydrated is important for any outdoor activities, so afford your dog the same courtesy you afford yourself and bring along some extra water for your pet! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG IN THE VEHICLE Just like with children, your fur babies should not be left unattended in a vehicle, especially a sealed vehicle on a hot day. If you do have to leave your pup in the car make sure you’ve parked in a cool, shaded spot with the windows cracked to be absolutely sure your pet will be safe and comfortable.
