Back in 2021, Toyota Motor Corporation announced their new North Carolina battery manufacturing plant with an initial investment of $1.29 billion. On Wednesday August 31, 2022 Toyota was proud to announce that it had invested another 2.5 Billion into the Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) facility! This makes Toyota’s total investment a whopping $3.8 billion and provides the area with approximately 2,100 new jobs! This manufacturing facility will produce batteries for hybrid electric vehicles and battery electric vehicles and take Toyota one step closer to its goal of carbon neutrality by the year 2035!
