But what about the undercarriage of your vehicle? Fiore Toyota’s Car Seat Tips: Pick the correct seat for your child’s age, height, and weight. Install the seat correctly by reading the owner’s manual for your vehicle AND the car seat. If you’re unsure if the seat has been installed properly, seek professional help. You should always choose a 5-point harness and it should be tight enough where you can slide one finger through. The chest clip should be even with your child’s armpits and any accessories that are not certified for car seat use should not be used. Facing backward is the safest option for your child until they have reached a certain age or weight limit. Your doctor can give further instruction on when it is safe for your child to face forward. Don’t rush to get rid of the booster seat. Children are safest in these even if it seems they are big enough to ride without one. Always choose a booster seat with a back for further protection. Never skip the car seat to save time. Your child’s safety is a top priority. Always be sure to strap them in to ensure that they are safe even if you are traveling a minute down the road. Children 13 and under should be safely buckled up in the back seat, no exceptions. Be an example, always wear your seatbelt. Children watch what your habits are and will pick them up. If you are consistent with wearing your seatbelt, they will realize it is an important part of riding in the vehicle!

Don’t Idle Your Engine We understand that in sweltering summer temperatures you’ll want to turn your vehicle on to get the A/C pumping before hitting the road. But this is making your gas gage drop by keeping your engine idling, meaning that you're wasting your own dollars and you’re not even going anywhere! So start up the car and hit the road without letting your vehicle idle! Maintain Proper Tire Pressure Keeping your tires at the proper inflation levels is a simple way to improve your gas mileage in the summer months. In fact, you can improve your gas mileage by up to 3% by keeping your tires at the proper PSI levels. Get Regular Oil Changes If you haven’t had an oil change in a while, it might be time for a quick oil change which can really help boost your fuel efficiency. Dirty, old engine oil can decrease your fuel efficiency greatly due to being thick and sludgy. This oil makes your engine burn more energy which makes your fuel economy go down. No good! Avoid Aggressive Driving Not only is aggressive driving unsafe, but it’s also hurting your fuel economy! So, if you’re weaving in and out of traffic or known to speed up and slow down erratically, it’s time to stop! If you’re only looking to take a test drive and perhaps get a quote on a new vehicle, just stop in with your valid driver’s license. This week we have put together a few ways to ensure that your vehicle stays healthy all season long and what you’ll need in the event of an emergency! Get all those tips and more below. Swap out regular tires for winter tires. Snow or not, when temperatures fall below 45 degrees, winter tires are recommended. They're made to give you better traction while turning or stopping on cold pavement. Check your tire pressure weekly. Driving on underinflated tires can cause them to wear down prematurely and lose traction on icy or slippery surfaces. Your tires lose a pound of pressure with every 10-degree drop in temperature. Always keep your fuel tank half full. During winter weather, it's important to keep at least half a tank of fuel in the vehicle in the event of an emergency or if you get stuck in the snow and wait for assistance. Pack an emergency to-go kit. We encourage you to keep an extra coat, blanket, boots, gloves, and a hat inside your vehicle when the temperatures drop. We also recommend keeping a flashlight, first aid kit, and emergency contact information or AAA handy. Protect your windshield wipers. If you park outdoors, leave the wipers in the raised position to prevent them from freezing to the windshield. Never use your wiper blades to remove ice, snow, or frost from the windshield; use an ice scraper instead.

On November 15th, 2023, Fiore Toyota Presented six School Districts with a check for $5,000 dollars each! A grand total of $30,000 dollars was provided to give immediate funds necessary that will provide the local school children with food for the weekends. Most of these children are home during our cold winter months without the proper nutrition needed to grow. It's important to let other drivers and pedestrians know your next move so they can slow down and accommodate. We recommend signaling at least 100 feet in advance. Riding the brakes. Riding your brakes can cause excess strain on your brakes. Keep your foot off the brake and only use when/ if necessary. Rolling through stop signs. We know this is a habit many struggle with but to ensure everyone’s safety, it’s important to come to a complete stop at any and every intersection you approach. Slowing down to look at crashes or construction. Rubbernecking is not only dangerous, but can contribute to a chain reaction of slowed traffic and potential crashes. Keep your eyes on the road ahead of you to ensure you’re following road rules or police directions. Sudden stops. Always be on alert and anticipate when you might need to stop. Sudden stops will create excess wear on brake pads. Fast starts. Accelerate at a slow smooth rate, peeling away uses excess gas, and may be putting a strain on the key components of your engine. Running yellow or red lights. Doing so can increase your chance of a car crash. If the light turns yellow before you reach the intersection, it's best not to risk it and wait for the next green light. Disregarding the speed limit. While speed limits vary by state and are typically posted, we recommend using the following ranges as a general guide if you don't see a posted speed limit: Residential area: 15-30 mph Undivided road (rural): 40-55 mph Divided road (rural): 55-70 mph Freeway: 55-65 mph
