Fiore Toyota’s Doggy Travel Tips

Use A Crate Or Seat Belt Fastener

  • Ideally you should use a crate for all or your pet travel as it’s the best way to keep your pet secure. But, if you cannot fit a crate in your car, a seat belt fastener will work as well! As long as your dog can’t dangerously move too freely about the cabin or dangle out the window!

Take Potty Breaks

  • We all need to take a minute to stop, stretch our legs, and maybe use the bathroom. Treat your pooch to that same courtesy. This will also allow your dog to stay calm and they won’t be so anxious being kept locked up in a crate the entire trip. Let your pooch burn off that excess energy and perhaps they’ll take a little snooze when you hit the road again!

Bring Snacks & Plenty Of Water

  • Snacks are always appreciated on the road, especially if they can be used to calm your pup down. And being hydrated is important for any outdoor activities, so afford your dog the same courtesy you afford yourself and bring along some extra water for your pet!

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG IN THE VEHICLE

  • Just like with children, your fur babies should not be left unattended in a vehicle, especially a sealed vehicle on a hot day. If you do have to leave your pup in the car make sure you’ve parked in a cool, shaded spot with the windows cracked to be absolutely sure your pet will be safe and comfortable.
