As many are aware, this coming Monday, April 8th, will mark a significant celestial event: a total solar eclipse across parts of Mexico and North America. NASA estimates that approximately 31.6 million individuals reside within the eclipse's direct path, with millions more located within a two-hour drive. During the 2017 solar eclipse, an estimated 5 million people ventured to witness this astronomical marvel, leading to extensive traffic delays lasting several hours on select routes. To assist in your eclipse-viewing plans, NASA has unveiled an Eclipse Explorer Map detailing the anticipated trajectory of the total solar eclipse. This resource helps you identify prime viewing locations and areas to potentially avoid traveling through. Whether you're gearing up for a journey to witness the eclipse firsthand or are concerned about potential traffic jams, Fiore Toyota is here to provide some safety tips for navigating the roads. February is here and spring is just around the corner! And with a new season comes some pretty extreme temperature changes, sometimes as much as a 20 degrees difference in a single day! These fluctuations can really affect your tires PSI and cause hazardous driving conditions! So, Fiore Toyota has compiled information on why keeping your tire at its proper PSI is so important! Take a look at our list below if your ride is in need of a tire replacement, schedule your service appointment at Fiore Toyota’s Service Center today. Why Your Tire’s PSI Is So Important: Proper PSI will help optimize performance and your vehicle's fuel efficiency. This is especially useful if you tend to run your A/C or heat for long periods of time and increasing gas prices). Avoid sidewall flexing and tire squirm when properly inflated. Avoid potential dangers like collisions, blowouts, heat build-up, and potential rolling hazards. Correct PSI improves durability and performance designed to match the specific needs of your vehicle. PSI stabilizes the tire’s structure, blends responsiveness, traction, and handling. Extreme temperatures and driving conditions will affect your tire’s PSI. Underinflated tires can wear prematurely due to being soft and unable to maintain their proper shape. Overinflated tires can wear unevenly due to being rigid and hard. It can also lead to a tire blowout. If your vehicle has been sitting for a long period of time, chances are the PSI is incorrect and you will need to fill up the tires. Vehicles that sit without being used have a tendency to have under-inflated tires. Your tires will last longer and the tread won’t wear out as easily if your tires are always properly inflated to the correct PSI.

Trust me, we’ve all been there and sometimes, things can be a bit trickier than others when it comes to servicing your vehicle. Like car fluids, for example. But there’s no need to stress, our team is here to help you have a successful ownership experience and this week we are bringing you important car fluids that you should know about and know what it is that they do. Fiore Toyota's Vehicle Fluid Guide: Engine Oil Keeping those moving parts in your engine is easier than you thought - just keep your engine oil filled to the right levels and you’ll be good to go. If you don’t, you run the risk of damaging your vehicle and getting a hefty repair bill when it’s time to fix up your ride. If you choose to check the oil yourself, check out the owner’s manual or leave it to a professional which we recommend if you’re new under the hood. Radiator Fluid We hope you know that radiator fluid goes, well,  in the radiator. But, it also keeps your engine from overheating, which is VERY important. If you ever notice your engine running a little hot, you might be running low on this fluid and it’s time to check it. If you ignore this, you’ll end up with a hefty repair bill. We recommend leaving this fix o the professionals for safety reasons. Power Steering Fluid Much like your vehicle’s engine, your power steering system has to be lubricated at all times for best results and control when it comes to steering and wheels. If you don’t have proper fluid levels, you will lose control and that is not good. This is one of the easiest fluids to fill, so if you’re low or totally out (which we hope you’re not), take out your owner’s manual and DIY! Brake Fluid Your brake fluid has the important job of bringing your vehicle to a complete stop when you’re ready. If you run low or out of this fluid, you run the risk of not being able to stop and that can cause some problems. Check out your vehicle’s owner manual for directions on how to add or change brake fluid in your vehicle and be sure to take a look at the color, too. If it’s dark - have a mechanic replace ASAP!
