Local Nonprofits Supported by Toyota Indiana

Toyota Indiana has been supporting local non-profit organizations since it first opened back in 1996. In that time, Toyota Indiana has provided support to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Gibson County Horticultural Society. This past quarter Toyota of Indiana provided support to 39 different organizations with a total of $100,000 donated. In the past 18 years the company’s donations have amounted to more than $20 million. This past quarter, one of the projects that Toyota Indiana’s funding helped to support was a rain garden project being developed by Dubois County Soil and Water Conservation as part of their Land Stewardship initiative. “Rain gardens are attractive, easy to maintain, and go a long way towards improving water quality by holding back the rain water and keeping it from flooding the municipal storm systems,” said Judi Brown, executive director of the Dubois County Soil and water Conservation District.  “Having the rain garden on the Vincennes University campus will provide an opportunity for people in the community to learn about rain gardens, and may entice them to construct one on their property.”
