Two Toyota Concepts To Check Out
Toyota Motor Company has developed a number of cool concept cars over the years, here we are going to take a look at a couple of the newest concepts, the FT-1 and the PM Concept.
The FT-1 is a sports car created by CALTY Design that was designed specifically with track use in mind and was inspired by vehicles such as the Supra, 2000GT, FT-86 and Celica. This concept model offers a glimpse into the type of energy and drive emotion that we can expect to see in future Toyota models. Additionally, a FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo®6 Concept version of this vehicle was developed as a digital download that will be available in the Gran Turismo®6 game from Playstation 3.
The OM Concept or Personal Mobility Vehicle is a one passenger transportation vehicle that was developed to offer the driver a stronger feeling of unity between them and the vehicle. This model also features several cutting-edge-vehicle-to-vehicle communication technologies.
Toyota Sienna: Remix Created By West Coast Customs
Anyone who has ever watched an episode of West Coast Customs is familiar with the incredible custom vehicles that the team is capable of creating. Recently, Toyota and SiriusXM Radio teamed up with the show in order to create a custom version of the 2015 Toyota Sienna or the Sienna: Remix.
A few of the impressive features included on this model in order to create the ultimate listening experience are, 16 Speakers, a 360-degree A/V column that can rise out of the roof with two 40-inch LCD monitors, four subwoofers and a fully functional DJ booth.
“Our team seized onto Toyota’s Swagger Wagon concept to build a DJ minivan that is completely unexpected and sounds like a party ready to start,” West Coast Customs founder and CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus said. “As a parent myself, I love the idea of combining fun and music with family life. Modifying this Toyota Sienna really let our team get super creative with sound, light and look.”
When developing the concept for this model one of the main themes that the team incorporated was the concept of music bringing families together. They wanted to develop a model that showcased the power of music and how it can inspire a communal bond amongst young families and give an energetic boost to drivers in general.
A Five-Star safety rating from the National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) was recently presented to the 2015 Toyota Venza. Five-Stars is the highest rating that can be given to a vehicles from NHTSA.
This model received a impressive scores in each of the NHTSA’s crash test in order to earn this rating. These scores included a five star rating in the side crash test and a four star rating in the rollover and front crash tests.
A few of the standard safety features that you can find on the 2015 Toyota Venza include Hill-start assist control, vehicle stability control, seven standard airbags including a driver’s knee airbag, traction control, rearview camera, antilock brakes and brake assist.

5-Star Safety Rating Given To 2015 Toyota Camry
The latest version of America’s best-selling car, the 2015 Toyota Camry has been given a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This impressive safety of this model was previously recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when they presented the 2015 Camry with a 2014 Top Safety Pick+ rating.
Safety features available on the 2015 Toyota Camry include blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, antilock brakes, 10 airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with auto high beam, brake assist, pre-collision system, traction control and vehicle stability control.

industry sales during Thanksgiving weekend were even better than expected,” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “Consumer demand for light trucks continues unabated and Toyota dealers set new November sales records for light trucks and SUVs.”
Additional Toyota November numbers:
- Sales of the Corolla reach more than 25,000 units, a 14.2% increase
- Sales of the Camry reach close to 29,000 units
- Sales of the RAV4 reach 21,108
- Sales of the Toyota 4Runner increase by 53%
- Sales of the Highlander reach a record setting 13,476, a 16.7% increase
- Sales of the Tacoma sales increase 3.3%
- Total Light Truck sales increased 7.1 percent, year-over-year
Diversity Event Hosted at Toyota Alabama
An event celebrating and encouraging diversity and inclusion was recently hosted by Toyota Alabama. For years, Toyota has been a strong promoter of creating a diverse working environment that encourages the opinions and new perspectives of its employees. In fact, Toyota is the only automaker to be named to DiversityInc’s annual Top 50 Companies for Diversity List.
“By actively encouraging respect, trust and understanding among our employees, we believe we can better serve our company, our customers and our communities,” said Emily Lauder, Toyota Alabama General Manager of Administration.
In addition to internal inclusion efforts, Toyota Alabama also provides to support to a several local organizations that are strong promoters of diversity and inclusion. These organizations include the United Way of Madison County, EarlyWorks Family of Museums, Boys & Girls Club, Village of Promise, Girls Inc. and Harris Home for Children.
The event at Toyota Alabama featured several speakers from non-profit organization including John Stallworth from the John Stallworth Foundation, Lee Marshall from Kids to Love, Dr. Helen McAlpine from the J.F. Drake State Technical College Foundation, Liz Hurley from the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund and more. In addition to hosting the event, Toyota Alabama provided a $2,000 donation to each event speaker.

ALG Awards Seven Residual Value Awards to Toyota
A total of six Toyota models were recently recognized at the annual ALG Residual Value Awards, all receiving the distinction of Top Pick in their individual segments. Additionally, Toyota as a brand received an award for overall top pick as a Mainstream Brand.
“Toyota’s truck lineup has traditionally had incredible retention, especially with its competitive pricing,” said Larry Dominique, President of ALG. “This year is particularly strong for its car lineup, as well, with a fresh array of sedans led by the best-selling Camry.”
ALG gives out these awards each year to automakers and vehicles in 24 different categories that the company feels have made outstanding achievements in releasing new vehicles that are expected to maintain the highest overall retail value over three-years. The factors that ALG considers when determining the winners include production levels relative to demand, competition in each segment, marketing strategies, historical vehicle performance, vehicle quality, industry trends and pricing.
