The Toyota Technical Center (TTC) recently announced that it will be donating $60,000 to fund a series of FIRST Robotics activities in Michigan. As the North American engineering, development and research headquarters for Toyota, TTC is funding these activities in order to help promote STEM research amongst today’s students and to encourage an interest in engineering and the automotive industry.

The provided funding will help to support robotics programs in school along with state and regional competitions. Since its initial development, the robotics program has led to the education and training of over 10,000 future scientists, technologists and engineers throughout the state.

“One of Toyota’s founding principles is to improve society,” stated Kristen Tabar, Electrical Engineer and TTC Vice President. “What better way to do that than to give students the tools they need to be successful today while they develop the critical skills they will need tomorrow. We are inspired by the hard work and dedication of the FIRST Robotics students in Michigan and all over the world. We look forward to seeing what they will accomplish, both this school year and beyond.”
