Toyota Motor Company has been included on the list of the world’s 50 Most Innovative Companies for 2015 put together by Fast Company Magazine. Fast Company stated that they chose Toyota for its impressive work into the research and development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Later this year, Toyota will be releasing the 2016 Mirai four-door, mid-size sedan, which will be the first mass-market hydrogen fuel cell vehicle ever.
As Fast Company writes, “Toyota plans to do for fuel cells what its Prius did for hybrids: make them ubiquitous and top of mind for environmentally conscious consumers.” Additional Fast Company comments include, “While other automakers are experimenting with fuel cells as niche vehicles, Toyota is the only one to engineer a global release, making all of its fuel-cell components in-house.”
The 2016 Toyota Mirai will be powered by a non-gasoline engine that emits water vapor and have the ability to travel as much as 300 miles on a full tank.
