Keep Your Tank Full, Here’s Why!
I know there’s been a time or two where you are driving down the road and your gas light comes on. You choose to ignore it and for a little while, that’s alright. But you’re causing serious harm to your vehicle. You’re probably thinking, “no I’m not.” But in reality, you actually are and this week we are going to outline the damage that you are actually causing to your vehicle and why it is so important to fill up your tank before that little light shows up. Take a look at our guide below and stop in to have your fuel pump checked or if you’re ready to upgrade your ride altogether.
You’re Wearing Out The Pump:
The gas you pump into your vehicle acts as a coolant for the electric fuel-pump motor and when you run low on fuel, this allows your fuel-pump to suck in air. What’s that mean? That means your fuel pump is running hot and can cause your fuel pump to wear out prematurely or eventually fail. This problem will happen over time but can be costly to repair or replace.
Fuel Gauges Aren’t Always Accurate:
Just because your fuel gauge says you have 30 miles to empty, don’t take the chance. Fuel gauges are known to not be 100% accurate and the precision of your gauge relies on various factors including your vehicle’s fuel economy and your driving style. Consider this as an estimate and not an exact mileage to empty. In short, running on empty puts you at risk of getting stranded or being in an accident when your vehicle suddenly stops in the roadway. So, just fill up. Ok?
Sediment Implications Are Brutal:
When you fill up the tank, sediments in the gasoline tend to settle toward the bottom of the tank. If you let your fuel levels run low, dirt and other sediments get stirred up from the bottom of the tank. Then, as your fuel pump is trying to pump gas into your engine, it’s sucking up the dirtiest gasoline in the tank filled with all those sediments. This mixture of dirty gasoline can end up in the engine or fuel line and will be a costly repair. If you engine clogs, your entire fuel line system will have to be flushed which again can be very costly.
National Car Care Month Is Here! Get Cleaning!
Friends near and far, we’re here to tell you that it’s National Car Care Month and what better way to celebrate than getting outside in the fresh spring air and treating your vehicle to a little TLC? Well, there is no better way! Now, we won’t lead you in blind. We have your spring cleaning guide this week to help you decide exactly what you should be checking for. So, are you ready to get started? We sure hope so because April is quickly coming to a close and your vehicle deserves all the love you can give it. Let’s get started!
- Check any and all fluids that are in your vehicle. If they seem low, fill them up. If they look dirty, change them out. Engine oil, power steering, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid – check them all!
- Have your battery checked by a professional to ensure that it is still in proper working condition.
- You should check your brake system at the end of each season to be sure they are working properly. In addition, have your rotors, brake linings, and drums inspected at every oil change.
- Take a look at your hoses and belts – check for cracking, brittle, loose, or signs of excessive wear.
- How are your tires looking? Make sure they are at proper PSI levels and make sure your tread isn’t unevenly worn.
- Inspect your exhaust system, you’re looking for any leakage or damage. A key indication of this is unusual noise.
- Give your HVAC system a go. If your noticing issues or unbearable smells, stop in to see our team and we’ll be more than happy to take a look for you.
- Got lighting? Take a few minutes to check all of your lightings in your vehicle. Headlights. Brake lights. Interior lighting. It’s important to be able to see and be seen – make sure these are in proper working condition at all times.
- Windshield wipers are a must. If you haven’t replaced your wipers in the last six months, it’s time to swap them out for a fresh new pair.
- Lastly, it’s a great idea to schedule a tune-up to improve your fuel efficiency for all of those spring/ summer road trips you’re planning!

Change Those Filters
Air filters are sometimes the most forgotten thing in a person’s vehicle. While air filters are the barrier between you and the pollen inside your cabin, it is crucial to swap our your air filters at the start of each season for plenty of reasons. We recommend changing at the beginning of the spring season and checking back again towards the end to ensure smart, clean breathing when you’re inside your vehicle.
Clean Your Carpeting
Your vehicle’s carpeting is known to be a home for allergens, dirt, dust, and all things nasty. The first way to allergy-proof your ride is to make sure your carpeting (and seating) is clean and fully dry. This will cut back on allergens and mold that can be created from wet shoes. If you want to go the extra step, invest in all-season floor mats to make this process easier or to keep allergens from building up in your vehicle’s floor mats.
Keep Your Windows Shut
Pollen season is quickly approaching and that means you’ll be sneezing in no time. Let’s cut back on those by keeping our windows closed when pollen is at its peak. We also recommend using only the recirculating cycle if or when you need to use your air conditioner in order to avoid pollen from entering your vehicle’s cabin.
Avoid Irritants, Please
Many drivers think cleaning their vehicle with great smelling products or adding a new air freshener to their vehicle will make all those bad smells go away. And in some cases, it will. But those fragrances can actually irritate you and could lead to jump-starting those allergies or making them worse. So, avoid all that and choose something that will not irritate your nasal membranes.

Your Guide To Organizing Your Vehicle
If you’re anything like me, keeping your vehicle clean can be a bit of a struggle. No, you’re not a dirty human – just a little bit messy. And that’s a-okay! But with spring right around the corner (just a few days away), we need to get our vehicle in tip-top shape in the terms of cleanliness and organization. This week we are diving deep and bringing you a guide to ensure that your vehicle stays clean and organized this year! Check it out below and if you’re ready to just totally toss out your old ride and upgrade to a new one, come see us right here at Fiore Toyota! Your dream Toyota could be waiting for you right here!
Like an organizing job, it all begins with a clean slate. I know, you’re wondering what you got yourself into but it’s time to clean up the mess you made. Start by cleaning out your entire vehicle. Front seat, back, even the trunk – get rid of all of the clutter. One way to keep the trash from piling up is to check the trash each time you fill up. Most gas stations have garbage cans just inches from the pump. So, next time you fill up – dump the trash or recycle anything you’re hoarding in your vehicle.
Now that it’s clean – keep it that way. The most important trick to keep your vehicle organized is keeping it clean in the first place. So, how do you do that? Create a plan that works for you and stick to it. Whether that is cleaning out your vehicle each time you fill up the pump or each time you arrive home from the grocery store. Make a plan and execute it – don’t fall back.
Choose organizational tools that will help you succeed! Whether you choose a shower caddy to keep your fluids and oils from tipping over in your trunk or an accordion folder to keep your paperwork organized – find tools that you like and get your items organized. I personally choose these two life hacks, plus I like to use a back seat media organizer to hang on the back of my front seats. The most important trick is to find what works for you and give all your items a home to live. Also, get in the habit of taking at least one thing with you when you exit your vehicle. This will help with the clutter and keep it to a minimum!
March is the perfect time to get behind the wheel of a brand new Toyota. You’re probably wondering why. But just think, you’re planning on taking a few road trips this spring perhaps some you haven’t even thought about yet. And nothing is worse than your vehicle leaving you in the dust because you forgot to take care of it. So, let’s skip all that mumbo jumbo and get you behind the wheel of a new, capable Toyota vehicle that will get you to where you want to be and beyond. Plus, with our March vehicle offers you can get behind the wheel without breaking the bank. I mean, it is tax season after all. Perhaps you could use your refund for a down payment! Must-Have Truck Accessories: A Guide
Choosing to drive a pickup truck means you have a capable, get-it-done kind of attitude. While this may be true, we might need some help to get those tasks done. That’s why there are a variety of truck accessories to help you succeed in your everyday tasks and life; this week, we have compiled a list of a few of our favorite accessories and must-haves. Take a look below and stop in to see our team to order your accessories today!
5 Must-Have Truck Accessories:
- Tailgate Assist – We know there has been a time or two that you opened up your tailgate and SLAM! It makes a loud bang as soon as you open it. Avoid that from happening with a tailgate assist.
- All-Weather Floor Mats – Everyone should have these. Don’t stress spills, mud, water – anything that you track into your pickup is no longer a worry thanks to all-weather floor mats. With raised edges, the mess will be contained and they are super easy to clean as well.
- Battery Powered Bed Lighting – The bed of your pickup can get a bit dark and hard to see where your gear is. Put that problem to bed with a battery powered bed light. We recommend purchasing one that is removable so it can work as a dual purpose.
- Bed Liner – Whatever type of bed liner you want is up to you but you most definitely need to have one. Avoid scratches and carrying things like dirt, gravel, and mulch is much easier with a bedrug full bed liner. Either way, it’s a great idea to have a bed liner.
- Running Boards – Don’t be that person that has to get a running start to hop into their cabin. Invest in a nice pair of running boards and allow yourself the convenience of stepping up into your pickups cabin with ease. Plus, your passengers will thank you as well.
The weather has been a little crazy here in PA and that means your vehicle is enduring a lot of stress thanks to the ever-changing conditions and dropping temperatures. One thing we know a lot of people overlook is your Tire’s PSI. And no, not just one tire, all four need to be checked especially in the winter months. Below, we have listed out a few of the top reasons why you should be checking up on your tires. So check it out below and be sure to stop in to fill up your tires or perhaps swap out the old for a brand new pair of tires!
Why You Should Be Checking Your PSI:
- Proper PSI will help optimize performance and your vehicle’s fuel efficiency. This is especially useful if you tend to run your A/C or heat for long periods of time and increasing gas prices).
- Avoid sidewall flexing and tire squirm when properly inflated.
- Avoid potential dangers like collisions, blowouts, heat build-up, and potential rolling hazards.
- Correct PSI improves durability and performance designed to match the specific needs of your vehicle.
- PSI stabilizes the tire’s structure, blends responsiveness, traction, and handling.
- Extreme temperatures and driving conditions will affect your tire’s PSI.
- Underinflated tires can wear prematurely due to being soft and unable to maintain their proper shape.
- Overinflated tires can wear unevenly due to being rigid and hard. It can also lead to a tire blowout.
- If your vehicle has been sitting for a long period of time, chances are the PSI is incorrect and you will need to fill up the tires. Vehicles that sit without being used have a tendency to have under-inflated tires.
- Your tires will last longer and the tread won’t wear out as easily if your tires are always properly inflated to the correct PSI.
