Toyota Warning Lights

Let’s face it — the moment a mystery light pops up on your dash, most of us do the same thing: squint, panic slightly, and then try to remember what Dad used to say about “that one with the exclamation mark.” Was it tires? Brakes? The flux capacitor?

At Fiore Toyota in Hollidaysburg, PA, we’re here to decode the dashboard for you — no dad required. Below, we’re breaking down some of the most common Toyota warning lights so you can spend less time Googling and more time driving with confidence.

Master Warning Light

Translation: Something’s up.
This triangle-with-an-exclamation-point light is your car’s way of saying, “Hey, I need attention.” It could be a variety of minor or moderate issues — from low washer fluid to more serious alerts. A quick scan of your dashboard messages or your Toyota app will usually reveal the culprit.

Low Fuel Light

Translation: You gambled. You lost.
We all think we can push it. But when this light comes on, it’s best to find a gas station — stat. Especially on those winding roads around Blair County, where “next gas: 40 miles” isn’t unheard of.

Charging System Warning Light

Translation: Your battery might be calling it quits.
If you see this little battery symbol light up, don’t ignore it. It could mean your alternator or charging system is malfunctioning. If your radio’s fading and the lights are dimming, swing by Fiore Toyota’s service center before you end up stranded at Sheetz.

Low Oil Pressure Light

Translation: Red means stop — seriously.
This is not a drill. If your oil light turns on, pull over immediately and shut the engine off. Low oil pressure can do major damage in a short time. Call your trusty mechanic (or, better yet, us) for what to do next.

Headlight High-Beam Indicator

Translation: Congratulations, you found the brights.
No cause for alarm here — this little blue icon just lets you know your high beams are on. Just don’t blind the good people of Duncansville on your way home.

Tire Pressure Warning Light

Translation: Inflate your life.
If your tires are feeling a little low — or your dashboard thinks they are — this light will let you know. It could be as simple as a cold morning or a slow leak. Stop by and we’ll check it out for you. (We even have free air!)

VSC OFF & TRAC OFF Lights

Translation: Traction control is off. Tread carefully.
Whether you turned them off intentionally (say, to get out of a snowbank) or by accident, these systems help keep you stable during slippery driving. You’ll want to turn them back on unless you’re doing donuts in an empty parking lot. (We don’t officially condone that, by the way.)

Cruise Control Indicator

Translation: You’re cruising now.
This one’s just here to tell you that cruise control is on — enjoy the ride, but keep your foot near the brake just in case you need to step in.

SRS Airbag Warning Light

Translation: Your airbags might not deploy when you need them.
If this light’s on, don’t wait. Your Supplemental Restraint System is no joke. Bring your vehicle to Fiore Toyota to get it checked out right away.
